WILD
CONVERSATIONS.

How to have the conversation that could change a life.

What It Is

A FRAMEWORK
FOR THE HARD
conversations.

Wild Conversations is a 45–60 minute domestic & family violence awareness session for salons, gyms, sporting clubs, workplaces, hospitality — any team whose people are trusted with time and honesty.

It isn't about turning anyone into a counsellor. It gives people a simple, memorable framework to hold onto in the moment someone finally trusts them enough to tell the truth.

Victim-survivors disclose to the people who give them time — a hairdresser, a beauty therapist, a PT, a coach, a manager, a workmate. Rarely to police first.

10% of every session fee is donated to Find My Wild.

Lauren's Story

I LEFT WITH 3 KIDS AND
the clothes on our backs.

Fourteen years in an abusive relationship. Seven-plus years out, still working through post-separation abuse — three and a half years of family court, and now criminal court.

I didn't know

I didn't realise it was abuse until the very end. My doctor was the person who finally named it for me.

02

I missed it too

I was a PT. A client once asked me to hide her address from her ex — and I didn't have the tools to see what she was telling me.

Five years later

I was her. That's why this session exists — so the next person in that chair is heard the first time they hint at it.

What You Might See

YOU DON'T NEED
TO BE CERTAIN.
you just need to notice.

Most abuse leaves no bruise — emotional, financial, coercive control, technology and stalking, and post-separation abuse. Which is exactly why it gets missed.

01

Physical & practical

Injuries explained away. Exhaustion, weight changes, covering clothes in warm weather. No access to their own money or card.

02

Behaviour & control

A partner who calls constantly, waits outside, or sits in on appointments. Last-minute cancellations. Asking you to keep their booking or address private.

03

What they say

"It's just how he is." "I probably provoked it." Jumpy, watching the door — and telling you things they've never told anyone.

The Framework

THE WILD RESPONSE.
four steps, for the moment someone tells you.

WWelcome"You're safe here. I'm listening."
II Believe You"Thank you for telling me. I believe you."
LListen"How are you feeling right now?"
DDirect"Would you be open to me giving you some resources?"

You don't have to use every step, and you don't have to get the words exactly right. You are not their counsellor, their lawyer, or their manager. You just have to be there — that's enough.

The conversation can happen anywhere: at the coffee shop, in the bathroom, in the lunch room, on the phone

In The Session

EVERYTHING YOUR PEOPLE NEED.
nothing they don't.

Delivered in person by Lauren — interactive, phone-based, no slide deck required.

01

Understanding the patterns

Emotional, financial, coercive control, technology, stalking, and post-separation abuse — the forms that leave no bruise.

02

The signs to notice

What shows up in a chair, a gym floor, a clubroom or an office — and how to make room without pushing.

03

The WILD response

Four steps every person walks away knowing by heart, with the exact words to use.

04

What not to say

The everyday phrases that accidentally shut people down — and what to say instead. No shame, just better.

05

Where to point them

The Find My Wild app, hotlines, the Survivor Starter Kit — plus the coded text you can send when a card isn't safe.

06

Looking after you

Holding a disclosure is heavy. Vicarious stress is real — and there is support for you too.
